Tamiya - US Medium Tank M4 Sherman
An iconic tank, the Sherman M4 was an Allied tank that served during the Second World War. Named for Civil War General William Tecumseh Sherman, the tank is distinct with its olive drab color scheme, rounded turret, and high-sloped front. The Sherman is easily recognizable and hailed as a legend of the battlefield. Loaded with a 350hp air-cooled gasoline engine and a 5-speed forward/reverse transmission, the M4 could reach speeds up to 38.6km/h. Early production runs saw the M4 fitted with a 3-piece bolted transmission housing, as well as applique armor added for extra layers of fortification. The M4 saw action on nearly all major WWII campaigns, including Normandy and Italy. When fully assembled, this 1/48 scale model measures 120mm long and 57mm wide.
